Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 C. Sugar
  • 1/3 C. Wine
  • 3 C. Flour
  • 1/2 lb. Mixed Fruit Peel and Cherries
  • 1 C. Nuts
  • 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
  • 3/4 lb. Butter
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 lb. Seedless Raisins/Sultanas
  • 1 c. Currants
  • 3 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Lemon Rind (grated)

Directions


Cream sugar and butter together. Sift flour, baking powder and nutmeg and add candied fruit and nuts. Beat eggs well and add wine. Mix alternately with egg and wine mix. Bake at 275 degrees for 1-1/2 to 2 hrs. Makes one angel food sized fruitcake.
